Following the decision of the meeting of the organizations concerned with the Qur'anic script project held in 2003 under the chairmanship of his eminence, professor Ahmad Muhammad Ali, the director of Islamic development bank and within the premises of the bank in Jeddah, Qur'anic Script Project Permanent Evaluation Committee was formed. The committee has drawn its membership from the following bodies: Islamic development bank (IDB), Jeddah, Islamic Scientific Educational and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), International University of Africa (IUA) and Institute of Studies and Research for Arabization.
UNESCO hosted the first meeting of the evaluation committee held at its own premises in Rabat in 2006. In 2007, the International University of Africa (IUA) hosted the second and the third meetings of the committee, and the forth in Ribbat Oct 2009. while all the necessary arrangements were made to hold the fifth meeting at Jaddah in Saudia Arabia in April 2010.
The main responsibility of this committee can be summarized as studying the result of the invested effort in Qur'anic Script Project from the beginning to date, evaluating the efforts and their results, and then designing the future plan.
